MEET BIANCA
Bianca Marcia Naves is at her core an artist. She is an Ohio native residing in the Old West End neighborhood of Toledo, Ohio. Splitting her childhood between Ohio and Georgia, Bianca grew up with a unique perspective of diversity in cultures and belief systems. This perspective has shaped her vision, avid curiosity, activism, determination, and required resilience as an adult.

After graduating Cum Laude in high school (and being awarded senior superlative Best Dressed,) Bianca was attending Owens Community College and contemplating her future. At the ripe age of 18 she was mother of 2 cats, front woman of a band, kitty foster mom for Planned Pethood, full time waitress and student, and completely unsure of where to focus her education.
That all changed when she watched the movie “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” The way Kate Winslet’s character was complimented by her style ignited something in Bianca’s soul. The next day she reached out to the costume designer at the college and started apprenticing with her assistant a few weeks later. She finished her degree in education and theater.
SHE ENJOYS THE ABSURD
As costume designer and/or costumer of over 50 theater productions, several short films and one feature, Bianca’s passion for clothing has grown exponentially over the years. After 10 years working wardrobe for touring productions, she became a card carrying member of IATSE. Local 24 in March of 2019.

In her free time, Bianca was curating vintage clothing, working as a freelance makeup artist, and fashion educator. She continues to make waves with her installation and performance art. She is a firm believer of the Arte Util (useful art) philosophy, and prefers collaborative projects where individuals come together, each showcasing their expertise. She enjoys the absurd, and is an avid supporter and novice performer in the noise art scene.
SHE WEARS MANY LENSES
In May of 2019, Bianca began her recovery from alcohol addiction and all these pieces of her life began to take shape into the next big journey.
With a push from the COVID-19 pandemic, she was able to take the time to build the foundation for the life she always dreamed of: an entrepreneur and an advocate for women, the labor movement, animals, veterans, water conservation, equality, and self care. She wears many lenses, but her favorites are Aunt B and cat mom to Ms. Milicent.
