Bianca has always preferred thrifting to conventional retail, and was able to apply the love of the hunt in her career, scouring for costumes and props for the productions she designs.

In 2011 Bianca began as a buyer for Spanish Vintage, started by her dear friend and fashionista Fransisca in Madrid, Spain. She selected choice items and shipped them to Spain to be reworked and sold in Fran’s online shop. Bianca fell in love with this new approach to vintage curation and decided to go into business for herself.
THE FIRST ITERATION
Biancat’s Meow’s first iteration was at Lalah V’s in Rossford, Ohio in the Spring of 2012. She later began to collaborate and curate with her friends Sarah and Lydia. The trio moved into the historic former Budapest Restaurant where they opened their shop by appointment, held invitational sales, and hosted salon events for various groups and members of the community.
In 2017, Biancat’s Meow went into hibernation while Bianca focused on wardrobe mistressing and becoming a card-carrying member of the wardrobe department of IATSE Local 24 in 2019.
A NEW CHAPTER
Then COVID-19 happened, and the live entertainment industry came to a complete halt.

This has afforded Bianca the time and space to focus on Biancat’s Meow. In an act of universal fate, Biancat’s Meow found its way home to the Collingwood Arts Center in November 2020. We are so delighted to start the next chapter of this journey with the launch of our online shops and website.
A FAMILY THREAD
The actual date of Bianca’s first time hosting a sale is unknown. For as far back as she can remember, Bianca has been co-hosting sales with her Grandma Naves, who held a perpetual sale in her barn where Bianca spent much of her childhood. Grandma Naves has been combating the concept of disposable culture for decades, and the two continue to host sales together to this day.
